The matcha tea ceremony, also known as the Way of Tea, has been a sacred part of Japanese culture since the 12th century. The chashaku, a bamboo tea scoop for measuring the precious green matcha powder into the tea bowl, is an essential part of that ceremony. Japanese tea masters traditionally would have carved their own – suffice it to say, ours saves you a lot of work.
